Lung Cancer Doesn’t Stand A Chance

Living For Liz is ringing in the New Year with perseverance!  We are proud to announce a new section of our website called “Our Impact” as well as announce our entire line up of events for the upcoming year!

L4L’s Our Impact page takes a look at some of our accomplishments in 2013.  And we will keep updating it as we go because we will be fighting lung cancer just as hard in 2014!

To recap, in 2013, L4L has:

  • donated $12,000 to Gundersen Health System to help fund Dr. Simon Shelley’s lung cancer research
  • donated $5,000 to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN to help fund Dr. Ping Yang’s lung cancer research
  • donated $3,500 to Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse and $3,500 to Gundersen Health System to be used for fuel cards for lung cancer patients
  • spent $5,000 on its awareness campaign, using that money to fund our annual Health Expo and co-sponsor the Shine-A-Light Vigil with Gundersen Health System
  • accepted a check from the Association of Fundraising Professionals, who honor one or two groups every year that not only talk the talk, but also walk the walk
  • and began the L4L 365 photography project, taking a picture every day for an entire year to promote a healthy lifestyle!

And for 2014, we have already set the dates for The L4L Health Expo, The L4L Motorcycle Tour, LIZFEST and Bet On A Cure For Lung Cancer.  So please mark your calendars!

Humbly, we would like to say THANK YOU to anyone who has supported us along the way- in any way, shape or form.  That support made all our accomplishments this past year possible and continues to drive us forward in 2014.   So thank you, thank you, thank you to our friends, family, donors, volunteers and everyone who continues to keep us in their thoughts and prayers.

The only other thing we can say is, watch out lung cancer… you don’t stand a chance.

– The L4L Team!
